Evangelism Ministry
Purpose
In each of the gospels, Jesus commands us to communicate God’s Word to the world. We are ambassadors for Christ and we are to tell the world about his death on the cross, his resurrection and his promise to return. The Holy Spirit leads us to tell the world about salvation through Christ. The Evangelism Ministry Team encourages and educates the congregation in its calling to be witnesses to Jesus Christ in the community and the world.
Homebound ministry
Eucharistic ministers: visit the homebound, sharing the bread and wine of Holy Communion
Friendly visitors: an important link between the church and those confined to their homes. Friendly visitors regularly bring news of the faith community and share in a variety of activities.
Transportation minister: provide rides to church related functions on an as needed basis
Phone visitors: make phone calls to the unable to allow them to participate
Prospective and inactive/absent member ministry
Prospective members: connect prospective members with congregational guides to answer questions and provide a connection to CTK
Inactive members: re-connect with members who do not actively participate in congregational activities
Absent members: maintain contact with members who are on temporary assignment – college students, armed forces members, job assignments, etc.
Care Notes
Prayer chain: members regularly receive notice of persons requesting prayer via an email system.
Card Ministry: cards are sent to members who have been ill, suffered loss or had surgery
Community Service
Consortium of the gathering: CTK is one of ten area churches sponsoring a day per week of respite for memory loss participants in the WBL area
